Abtei Himmerod Abteibier is an Abbey style Quadrupel beer, produced from Brasserie de l’Abbaye du Val-Dieu for the Himmeroder Abbey in Grosslittgen, Germany. The beer has bitter-sour and spicy-resiny aromas with a slight caramelized taste. The ABV for this beer is 10.5%.

Glass to Use:
Quadruple beers are best served in a Tulip glass.

About the Brewery
L’Abbaye du Val-Dieu was founded in 1216 by monks from Hocht, near Maastricht. The brewery gets its water from the Gileppe dam, and keeps its yeast at the Abbey. Brasserie de l’Abbaye du Val-Dieu produce several types of beer as well as Abtei Himmerod for the Abbey of Himmerod.

Abtei Himmerod Abteibier has a thick frothy head with a pilsner hue. The beer has a sweet malty aroma, is smooth with malt and cream flavors. Overall I didn’t really enjoy this beer.
