About the Brewery
The Abita Brewing Company was founded in the Abita Springs, LA, which is 30 miles north of New Orleans. In year one, the brewery produced 1,500 barrels of beer and by 1994, they outgrew the original site (now their 100-seat brew pub) and moved up the road to a larger facility to keep up with demand. The brewery now brews more than 151,000 barrels of beer and 9,100 barrels of root beer. Their lagers and ales are brewed in small batches, hand-crafted by a team of dedicated workers with only the highest ideals of quality and has been recognized nationally as one of the top craft breweries in the United States.
Beer Reviews:
Tobin’s Review 3 out of 5
Abita Christmas Ale has a light amber hue with a small beige head. The beer pops with aromas of malt and has a soft grain mouth with a dry hop finish. I taste caramel and mocha which emanate from the malts used in this Christmas beer.
