About Scotch Ales
Scotch Ales originated in Edinburgh, Scotland in the 1800’s. Scotch Ales also known as Wee Heavy’s, have super malty, rich notes that are full of caramel flavors and aromas. These ales tend to be dark brown, full-bodied and are higher in alcohol content.
Color- Light reddish brown to dark brown.
Head- Robust tan head.
Aroma/ flavor- Sweet malt, brown sugar, molasses, treacle, caramel, toffee, burnt sugar.
Glass to Use:
Scotch Ales are best served in a thistle glass.
