About the Brewery
William and Ralph Foster created Foster’s Brewing in 1887 in Melbourne, Australia. In 1901 the federal government introduced the Beer and Excise Act and Foster’s would merge with five other brewing companies to form Carlton & United Breweries (CUB) in 1907.

Foster’s was exported in the 1970’s, and in the 1980’s the brand was brewed under license in the UK. CUB is currently owned by Asahi Breweries and the beer is sold throughout the world.
