About the Brewery
In 1890, Wilhelm Hasse founded the Moctezuma Brewery in Veracruz, Mexico. The brand pays homage to Moctezuma, who was the last leader of the Aztecs. In 1897 Hasse first brewed Siglo XX which is what we now know as Dos Equis Ambar. Siglo is the Spanish word for century and XX were Roman numerals (20th Century.) In 1983 Dos Equis Lager was imported to the US and by 2009 Dos Equis was the fastest-growing import in the US. The brewery is currently part of Heineken International who acquired it in 2010. The company is responsible for brewing Bohemia, Carta Blanca, Dos Equis, Indio, Sol and Tecate.

Dos Equis Amber has a dark mahogany color with a nice oatmeal head. The beer has aromas of malt with flavors of malt and a grainy biscuit finish. The beer is slightly sweet and very malty without much hops.
