About the Hacker-Pschorr Brewery
The Hacker Brewery dates back to 1417 in Munich, Germany. In 1793, Peter Paul Hacker’s daughter Maria Theresia Hacker married Joseph Pschorr. Joseph would acquire his father-in-law’s house and brewery, and grow Hacker into one of the top breweries in the city.
In 1820 Joseph purchased the Bauernhansl Brewery and would establish the Pschorr Brewery. Joseph would leave his children equal shares of the breweries. Georg was given the Pschorr Brewery and Matthias was given the Hacker Brewery. In 1972, Hacker and Pschorr would merge creating the Hacker-Pschorr Brewery.
