Beer Reviews:
Tobin’s Review 3 out of 5
Sierra Nevada’s Oktoberfest has a light gold hue with a quick dissipating head. The beer has sweet cream malt aromas with flavors of malt and a slight sweet hops and cinnamon flavors. The beer ends dry.

About the Brewery
The Sierra Nevada Brewery was founded in 1979 by Ken Grossman and Paul Camusi in Chico, California. Grossman and Camusi were avid homebrewers and borrowed $50k to start their brewery dream. In 1980 they brewed their first batch of beer on the premises- Pale Ale. Their Pale Ale was followed up a year later with their Celebration IPA. In 1987 they would move into what is the current brewery location and in 2012 they would build a second brewing facility in Mills River, North Carolina. The Mills River location would start to brew beer in 2015, and currently Sierra Nevada brews its beer on the East and West Coast. Today the brewery is owned by Grossman, as Camusi retired and sold his shares to Grossman in 1989.

Tobin’s Review 3.5 out of 5
Sierra Nevada’s 3 Weight Session IPA has a cloudy golden hue with a small frothy head. The beer has a light citrusy hops aroma with nice carbonation. It reminds me of a Pilsner with a nice tinge of hops. Overall it’s a very light drinkable beer.

Tobin’s Review 3 out of 5
Sierra Nevada’s Flipside Red IPA has a deep, deep, deep amber red hue with a pretty thick head. I pick up notes of chocolaty grain on the nose with a slightly smoked grain flavor. The beer reminds me of a cross between a red and a porter. It is a good beer with a little carbonation in the back of the throat. It’s really flavorful, but definitely a heavier beer.

Beer Reviews:
Tobin’s Review 3 out of 5
Sierra Nevada’s Torpedo Extra IPA has a nice red color, almost like a Killian’s. The beer has a picture perfect head and emits aromas of citrus. I would have expected a punch of hops to my nose, but it really doesn’t have one which is a little surprising. The beer is very smooth with a bite of bitterness on the back of the mouth. The beer is good, but really not very quenching and overly dry.
