Description:
Abita Turbodog is a dark brown ale brewed with pale/ caramel/ chocolate malts, Willamette hops and German Ale yeast. This combination gives Turbodog its rich body and color and a sweet chocolate, toffee-like flavor. Turbodog began as a specialty ale, but has gained a huge, loyal following and has become one of Abita’s flagship brews.

Glass to Use:
Brown ales are best served in a 16oz. beer glass.

About the Brewery
The Abita Brewing Company was founded in the Abita Springs, LA, which is 30 miles north of New Orleans. In year one, the brewery produced 1,500 barrels of beer and by 1994, they outgrew the original site (now their 100-seat brew pub) and moved up the road to a larger facility to keep up with demand. The brewery now brews more than 151,000 barrels of beer and 9,100 barrels of root beer. Their lagers and ales are brewed in small batches, hand-crafted by a team of dedicated workers with only the highest ideals of quality, and has been recognized nationally as one of the top craft breweries in the United States.

Abita Turbodog has dark chocolatey color and the nose of the beer has a chocolate aroma. The beer is heavier and tastes like a cross between a Stout and a Porter. It has a nice chocolate taste and is much smoother than a heavier Stout. Overall it is a good beer.
