El Pastor Valencia Orange Spanish Chevre
The goat cheese is made from goat’s milk in Spain’s Zamora region. The unexpedted tangy sweetness comes from bits of Valencia orange rolled into this firm, yet wonderfully smooth cheese.
Beer Pairing- Widmer Hefeweizen
A Bavarian style that’s light in color and cloudy. The yeast used for hefeweizens adds banana, bubblegum and clove notes to the beer.
Cello Monteau Alpine
Inspired by the complex flavors of cheese from the French Alps, this Alpine-style cheese has fruity flavors with hints of butter and hazelnut. Copper vats, natural Alpine cave-aging techniques and hand-smearing produce a rich, decadent flavor with Old World authenticity.
Beer Pairing- Abita Amber
Amber beers are a bit unique as they can be produced as an ale or a lager. Ambers have a nice light caramel brown color and the presence of caramel and crystal malts bring about a toasted, toffee flavor. The beer is generally not very hoppy and a nice pleasant beer to drink.
Torero Matador 12-month Aged Manchego
Starting with Manchega sheep’s milk from the La Mancha region of Spain, the cheese is carefully crafted to produce an aromatic and complex, nutty caramel character with a distinct crosshatch patterned rind. Slightly sweet and creamy, with a slight aftertaste characteristic of sheep’s milk, this ivory-colored masterpiece is buttery in texture with a distinctive flavor that is aged for 12-months.
Beer Pairing- Brooklyn Lager
Lager is a type of beer that is conditioned at low temperatures. The term ‘lager’ comes from the German word lagern, which means ‘to store’. The beer can have pale yellow, amber or even dark hues. Lagers tend to encompass most mass-produced beers.
Cello Smoke ‘n Spice Hand-Rubbed Fontal
A sensational smooth, creamy Fontal features a blend of spices hand-rubbed on each wheel by Artisan cheesemakers to impart rich flavor and texture. The smoky trio of peppercorn, paprika and savory warm spices complements the creamy cow’s milk cheese for a tantalizing treat.
Beer Pairing- Samuel Smith Nut Brown Ale
Brown ale is a beer style that is top fermented and has a dark amber or brown color. Brown ale was derived in London in the 17th century and was used to describe mild ales. The beer was later dropped by the British due to the fact that pale malt was cheaper than the brown malt used to create the beers. It wasn’t until the end of the 19th century when brown ales were brought back, but they were much stronger than the original beers. Now the term ‘brown ale’ really just describes the color as the beers tastes vary from sweet and low alcohol, to medium strength with moderate bitterness, to malty hoppy beers.
